Surgery

Ok so this will hopefully be my last post regarding my "mouth" since now it will be a waiting game. The surgery repair was a success even though I am in pain with the stitches and not being able to open my mouth wider than one inch. I am hoping that this is the road to recovery. I will keep you posted.

Updates

Well since it has been a while since I have last blogged I figured I should catch everyone up with the new update of my surgery. I am not going to California because the surgeon gave us a 30-50% chance that he could repair the nerve. They did however find an amazing surgeon at OHSU in Portland that I met with last week, that after looking at me and the x-rays he is 90% sure that he can repair the nerve. My surgery is set for the 21st of this month and even though I am very nervous I am also anxious to regain the feeling back in my tongue. We will be leaving for Vancouver on the 20th and be there at my parents recovering until the 24th. I am so excited to finally have this all come to an end but I am so grateful for those of you that have supported my family and I through this whole process. Thank you

HAPPY 5YR Anniversary

On a lighter note yesterday was our 5 year anniversary we spent it at "The Melting Pot" we had heard so much hype about it and I love fondue so we thought we would try it out. It was good but for the money that we paid it wasn't worth it. The meat portions were small and our server was not very proffessionial. If we do go back it will be for dessert only. We did have a very nice evening however. I love you sweetheart so much and look forward to many more exciting years.
I LOVE YOU!!!

What was supposed to be simple...

As most of you know last monday I went in to get my wisdom teeth taken out, as normal I had a lot of anxiety but because I knew I would have an IV to put me asleep it was going to be ok. I thought the hard part would be not eating solid food for 24 hours and be "temporarily" numb for up to 24 hours after the surgery. That was not the case however I was told the following day when I went in to my appt that he had cut my nerve which is the one that gives me sensation and feeling in my tongue. I am now completely numb from the middle to the left side of my tongue. This last week has been incredibly hard for me not because I keep biting my tongue, haven't eaten solid food for a week now, but because the 3 medications I am on make me feel icky and not myself, and the outcome of this all were not sure. I am still currently working at night but it has been very hard to focus and not feel like I am going to pass out because I get very light headed and dizzy work has been amazing however.
As of friday when the Dr and I last spoke he has found someone in San Francisco that can do the surgery to repair my nerve. The positive thing is that since it was 100% his fault they are taking care of all the expenses to fly my mom and I and cover all the costs while we are there, the surgery, and his mal practice insurance will cover the rest.
I pray that the outcome will be that I will be healed and we won't have to go into it legally any further. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life without it I would most likely not have any mobility or taste in my tongue.
Thank you so much to all my friends and family that have either called, visited, brought me yummy smoothies, and everyone that has been there for us.
I will know an update tomorrow about when we leave for CA and how long etc. so for now we are trying to be patient and hope that this all goes away very soon.

I will not be posting pictures because they were not pretty at all...

Settling in

Well its been a week and we are finally starting to feel settled into our new place everything is unpacked and put in a spot and finally we can hang pictures again. We weren't able to when we had the house up for sale. Speaking of the house well that is a whole different story which still has no conclusion but hopefully this week it will be final i'll keep you posted.

Hanging out with my lil man

We went to our new church ward and everyone was so welcoming and nice to our family. In fact there was a lady sitting next to us and Madelyn decided to show her the Jesus picture book and sit on her lap. It was so cute the lady was very nice about it and talked with her most of the time. Also in nursery they let Trey in 2 weeks early and he did very well . So to sum things up we are doing well adjusting to apt life again (sordove) and having a great time playing in this weather.
Trey loved the fountains
Maddie liked them also

I love this shot of him
Paige and Maddie being twins too cute
Taking a break to enjoy Wendy's

Last saturday a good friend of Chad's since HS Kelly set up a "mini reunion" which we attended with the kids. We had a great time catching up on our lives, meeting everyone, shooting a bebe gun for the first time which was fun, and watching the kids go wild. Thanks again to Chanda's parents for hosting it and Kelly and others who put it all together we had a great time.

what we have been up to...

There are many more pics I will soon post but until I download them this will have to do....

Memorial Day- We went with our good friends the Malmbergs to the Bellevue Fountain Park for a picnic and fun

Enjoying the weather- The kids have had so much fun playing outside

Rachel's 30th Birthday - Ty surprised Rach with a night of fun, friends, and bowling

Alki Beach- While Adam and Britney were visiting we took everyone to the beach for the day

Carriages at Fairwood Downs- Our new place we will call home

This week is bittersweet for us because we are moving out of our house that we have seen built from ground up and have loved every minute of it. We have been so fortunate to have such great neighbors and amazing friends in the neighborhood. Due to Chad preparing to apply to Physical Therapy school we need to really start saving money and with me only working the finances became a struggle, so we found a great Apt in Fairwood which is between Maple Valley and Renton to live in for the next year. The kids are going to have to share a room which is going to be crazy but duable. The positive is we finally will have 2 bathrooms, a very nice pool and workout gym. We have loved living in Snoqualmie and will soon be back (3 years)...

Maddie's testimony

This last sunday it was testimony meeting and as Chad and I were listening, ok well trying to listen Madelyn said to me " Mommy I want to go up and talk" immediately my heart started to race because it was so sweet to hear that from my 3 year old. We both went up and she grabbed the mic and began talking as if all the attention was on her, which it was. This is how it went... "I love Jesus, my family, and continued to ramble so nobody could understand. finished with Amen" I then bore mine and as we were about to walk back down she grabbed the mic and said " i am grateful for my husband Amen" It was too funny because I had just finished saying that, so I guess she felt the need also. Everyone was laughing it was so cute. I am so grateful to our little girl and the happiness she feels at church. I am so proud of her for wanting to go up on her own. I am afraid however that she will ask every sunday.

Happy 3rd Birthday Madelyn and Grandpa

Three years ago our sweet little girl came into this world and every day since has been such a blessing. We wake up to our sweetheart smile and say "good morning daddy and mommy." and at night time "I love you Mommy and Daddy." She is such a joy in our lives and we are so grateful for her. I love to see her change daily even if "change" actually does happen. She never will keep on the same thing longer than 2 minutes and will change clothes 20 times a day seriously. She loves Trey Trey so much and is the best sister. We love her beautiful red hair, blue eyes, spunky personality and beautiful spirit.

Our 3 year old Princess

Today we had a "Princess birthday party" with 8 of her little friends all dressed up as princesses. I can't thank my mom enough for all the help with the party because of her it was a complete success. We started out with the girls taking their pictures behind the castle wall, decorated the picture frames, listened to a princess story, ate cake(which was amazing thanks to my good friend Jenn), and opened presents. She has the best little girlfriends and had an amazing time.

"Princess crown cake" one word to describe it "AMAZING"

Tonight we went to Claim Jumpers for my Dad's birthday. It's such a special day for maddie not only because its her birthday but because she gets to share it with her Grandpa who is her favorite. The food was great but in the 3 times we have been there they have messed up on my meal and getting the kids food out when we get ours. Other than that we had a great time.

The cake they brought Maddie it was huge but very tasty
